Governance & Development

CIDH promotes policy discussion, and dialogue among political, social, and economic actors.  The expertise of CIDH´s members in varied fields make the organization a valid interlocutor with convening power.

CIDH fosters  analysis, workshops and seminars regarding the challenges that Central America faces for its structural transformation.  CIDH articulates and supports the work of civil society, entrepreneurs, and political networks regionally organized.

Among CIDH´s activities are the selection, gathering and diffusion of information for decision-making processes,  organization of workshops for situation analysis of key aspects of the human development process in Central America, establishment and maintenance of a virtual network, follow-up on national and sub-regional political actions triggered by the think tank Círculo de Copán, and management of relevant information for governments, civil society groups and international cooperation agencies.

Applied Research

CIDH facilitates the generation of knowledge through applied research on themes covering different dimensions of the sustainability of  human development.  One of CIDH´s institutional strengths consists in its members' great expertise in the design, implementation, and evaluation of development projects, which becomes a comparative advantage for practical training.
